abstract

in this paper the concept of homothetic dual exponential motions in d3 is discussed and theirvelocities obtained. due to the way in which the matter is presented, the paper gives some formula and factsabout dual exponential motions which are not generally known

cyclic surfaces in e51 generated by homothetic motions

in this paper, we study cyclic surfaces in 5 1 e generated by homothetic motions of a lorentziancircle. the properties of these cyclic surfaces up to first order are investigated. we show that, as it is shown ine5 , cyclic 2-surfaces in 5 1 e , in general, are contained in canal hypersurfaces. finally, we give an example.

Random Motions with Space-Varying Velocities

Randommotions on the line andon the planewith space-varyingvelocities are considered and analyzed in this paper. On the line we investigate symmetric and asymmetric telegraph processes with space-dependent velocities and we are able to present the explicit distribution of the position T (t), t > 0, of the moving particle. Also the case of a nonhomogeneous Poisson process (with rate λ = λ(t)) go...

Skewed, exponential pressure distributions from Gaussian velocities

A simple analytical argument is given to show that the distribution function of the pressure and that of its gradient have exponential tails when the velocity is Gaussian. A calculation of moments implies a negative skewness for the pressure. Explicit analytical results are given for the case of the velocity being restricted to a shell in wave number. Numerical pressure distributions are presen...

steiner formula and holditch-type theorems for homothetic lorentzian motions

the present paper is concerned with the generalization of the holditch theorem under oneparameterhomothetic motion on lorentzian planes. in this paper, for the homothetic lorentzian motion, weexpressed the steiner formula. furthermore, we present the holditch-type theorems.

On the Volume of the Trajectory Surfaces under the Homothetic Motions

The volumes of the surfaces of 3-dimensional Euclidean Space which are traced by a fixed point as a trajectory surface during 3-parametric motions are given by H. R. Müller [3], [4], [5] and W. Blaschke [1]. In this paper, the volumes of the trajectory surfaces of fixed points under 3-parametric homothetic motions are computed. Also, using a certain pseudo-Euclidean metric we generalized the we...

Absolute motions of globular clusters . II ⋆ HST astrometry and VLT radial velocities in NGC 6397

In this paper we present a new, accurate determination of the three components of the absolute space velocity of the Galactic globular cluster NGC 6397 (l ≃ 338◦, b ≃ −12◦). We used three HST/WFPC2 fields with multi-epoch observations to obtain astrometric measurements of objects in three different fields in this cluster. The identification of 33 background galaxies with sharp nuclei allowed us...
